July Utah Trip

First day of our vacay - Haha!!  We were delayed just a few hours and we are back on the road.  One of the hoses broke, so we needed to have our truck towed to Kanab.  It didn't take long to fix the hose and then we were on our way.
Day 1 - fun tow trip

Day 2 of our trip was much better than the first. We made it our destination and had a blast. We spent some time my dadl.  This was the first time that my kids saw his new digs.  I think they were really impressed with Creekside.  We went to see where my mom was buried and a few other relatives.  We brought my dad along with us.  We barely made in back for dinner with Jeff, Steve, and their famlies.  After dinner, we found a really cool park with a creek that went through it.  It was fun to hike down and see the creek.

Day 3 - We spent some time with Grandpa, cousins, and each other.  We started off the morning by going to the zoo with Lauren and the kids.  It was fun to see the zoo through their eyes.  We went to see my dad afterwards and he wanted us to go track down some grave sites that we couldn't find the day before - Conrad & Selma Wall.  We had a great long day and seeing the sunset from Jeff's place was really cool.

Day 4 - We took a tour of East High where “The High School Musical” was filmed. Angela LOVES that movie and wanted a tour. Aunt Lauren gave her a personal tour and an East High T-shirt. So cool!! We stopped by DI to see if there were some filing cabinets that dad could use and Jeff's place.  It was fun to watch Jeff shop at the DI.  We had dinner at Pace’s diner and also had some Pace Popsicles too!!  Feeling at home.

Day 5 - We picked up Drew and Audry and went to the Hill Air Force Museum to see the cool planes.  It was a free exhibit which was a big plus.  We saw some really cool planes, one of which had Audry's name on it. We hit Taco Bell for lunch and then went to the Clark Planetarium.  We had so much fun there.  We watched a movie about life under the sea which was a unique show to watch at a planetarium, but it was so cool.  The exhibits were fun too.  The best part was bonding with Drew and Audry.
Day 5

Day 6 - We visited Temple Square.  We started off at the Family History Center.  Lauren, her mom, and her kids joined us for the experience and a little bit of the Church History Museum.  Afterwards we toured the temple grounds and finished at the mall across the street having Chick-Fil-A for lunch.  We were getting a little hot and were ready to end our tour.

Day 7 - We made a trip to Heber City to visit my mom’s cousin which ended with a yummy ice cream treat. Aunt Janet painted a picture for my mom and Lisa asked us to go pick it up.  It was so fun to listen to her stories of my mom.  It was a sweet visit.  They wanted to treat us to some ice cream at a cute train ice cream shop.  We stayed for another hour talking to them.  I would love to go visit again.  We stopped by my Grandpa’s old house. It was fun to show my family a little piece of my childhood and where my Grandma and Grandpa Wall lived.  I'm really glad that we made the effort to stop by and see the place.  We went back to Bountiful to celebrate my dad’s 75th birthday.

Day 8 - We woke up early to say Happy Birthday and Goodbye to my dad before heading home.  On the way home, we stopped by Horseshoe Bend . I've always wanted to go there and we did.  It was a hot day, so the hike was a little uncomfortable.
Day 8
This was a great trip and I loved spending time with my family.  I needed to see that my dad was doing well in UT and was settling in.  Utah has always had a piece of my heart and now it has more.  I can't wait to visit again and see my dad.  He is looking great.
