Memorable Monday
Journal Entry Feb. 26, 2007

Jim has been busy with work and scouts.  Jim enjoys his work most of the time.  He is working on a big project that keeps him busy.  He keeps busy with the scouts.  They just went on a camp out near the bat-cave just below the Superstition Mountains.  They went to explore the caves and the bats chased them.  I would have freaked out.  I've been to that cave.  I hiked to the cave but didn't go in.

Josh has been busy with school and scouts.  He is in 4th grade and working really hard.  He has had great grades.  Last quarter, he had all A's.  He worked hard for those grades.  Josh is in the Chess Club at school.  He goes to school early twice a week for it.  He loves it and is willingly to get ready to go.  Josh loves scouts.  His dream is to become one of his Dad's scouts.  He knows he has to wait, but the wait will be worth it.  Josh got his Webelos badge at the Blue and Gold banquet last week.  He also got his religious square knot.  It's sad to know that he will leave cub scouts in 6 months.

Dani is busy with school and her social life.  She loves to play with her friends.  Dani just got her braces off.  She had wore braces on 8 teeth for 6 months.  The orthodontist said that she is done with phase one of her treatment.  She wears a retainer and there is a small bar on the bottom row of her teeth to keep them straight.  She will see the orthodontist every 6 months until she is ready for phase 2.  She is going to dance and activity days.  She is keeping busy.

Angela is in 1st grade and loving it.  She is such a sweet girl.  She is going to turn 7 this week.  Her birthday is sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.  We will probably celebrated it on Thursday, because Jim has scouts on Wednesday.  Angela isn't doing extra activities.  She is gone so long with school.  I just want to spend time with her.

Emily is so cute.  She is two years old and learning about her environment.  She copies everything we say and do.  The kids totally love her and want to play with her.

I've been busy with my kids.  A month ago, we went to play in the snow.  It was a great time.  Jim and the older had a great snowball fight.  Emily and Angela threw snowballs at me.  It was great to leave the snow behind.  It was a little sad too.

During spring break, we are going to a resort in Phoenix.  We went a year ago.  The kids totally loved it.  They went swimming, played miniature golfing, went on a lazy river, and had a lot of fun.

We are all in good health and keeping busy like we should.

Cinderella

Jim and I took the girls to see Cinderella and watch Justin and Zach perform.  Mesa High School musical will be different without Sandy Stones, but the students and directors did a good job.    I did miss watching Danni perform on the stage, but watching my nephews was fun too!  It was nice to sit in the chairs and not know anything about the musical, play, props, ...  It was great just to be anudience member with my family.

Blessing Days

My nephew was blessed on Sunday and I was reminded of the days we blessed our 4 children. Special Day

Throw Back Thursday
Josh and Danni

I stumbled across this picture and remember the days when both Josh and Danni were younger. There are days when I wish I could go back when they were young and enjoy being with them.  Looking back it seems that problems were easier to solve, even though I don't think they were.  I enjoy talking to my kids now and love who they have become.  But there are days when I would love to go back, just for a day.

Look how cute my two oldest kids are!!!!!
Now they are both adults.

Prescott Trip

We planned to spend the day in Prescott when Danni told us of her plans to attend Brigham's wrestling match.  We stopped by Prescott Valley to have breakfast for Jim's birthday in Prescott Valley.  It was a great breakfast and we had a great time.  We dropped Danni off at the wrestling match and headed off explore Prescott.

We found Watson Lake on the map and decided to go for hike.  We found a trail that walked wind up around a section of the lake.  We went on the trail to see when the trail went. It was a nice trail and I had a lot of fun taking pics.  We didn't know if Josh had to work that night, so we didn't want to get in a big hike.  After we finished the trail, we discovered that Josh didn't have to work that night, so we were free to explore more of Prescott.
Someone took a pic of us

After our hike, we went to explore Downtown Prescott.  Prescott was the territorial capital of AZ so there is some history there.  I wanted to check out the courthouse, so we did.  We walked around and got some good pics and even stopped by a souvenir store.  I
Checking out Downtown Prescott!!!
History of Prescott on the sidewalk - cool!!

We went to check on Danni and found out the Brigham lost all of his matches and was out of the tournament.  His mom was going to stay the night with Danni, but that changed.  I didn't want Danni to stay the night, so I decided to stay the night with her.  We tried to figure out transportation, but couldn't, so we rented another hotel room and the whole family stayed the night.  We had dinner and then watched TV until bedtime.  In the morning, we had a nice breakfast and headed home.  Danni found a ride home with people she knew.  It was a fun trip for our family, even though it had some twists and turns.

It was fun to see the MHS bus at our hotel room.

Memorable Monday
February 6, 2005

Today we blessed Emily.  It was a neat day.  We appreciate everyone who came and participated in the blessing.  There are pictures included of Emily.  She looked beautiful.  We had a family get together the night before.  We had a great time.  We hope that you did too.  After I bore my testimony, Angela had too.  She followed me up to the stand and wouldn't leave unless she said something.  For someone so shy, she didn't have a hard time talking in front of a lot of
people.  It was cute.

Josh has been playing primary softball.  He likes it. It doesn't have the structure of little league.  He especially likes that.  He has been doing well and hitting the ball.  It's fun to play with people that you know.
