Girls Camp 2022

Emily went to Girl's Camp this week.  The theme was "I Know".  I love the theme and wish that I could have gone with her this year.  They went to Camp LoMia this year as a stake.  She was a YCL with Kenzie which has been a first since last year they did a ward camp.

Day 1 - “I Like Me!” - “I am a beloved Daughter of Heavenly Parents with a divine nature and eternal destiny.” YW theme
Day 2 - “Look Up” - “Look unto me in every thought, doubt not, fear not” D&C 6:36
Day 3 - “ We’re All in This Together” - “I will stand as a witness of God at all times and in all things and in all places.” YW theme
Day 4 - “I Know!” - For I know that my Redeemer liveth” Job19:25

Em sent me some pics and I found some that the stake leaders posted.

Last Days of School

Emily's last day of school was on the 18th for both EVIT and Mesa High.  She received a certificate from EVIT which was a Certificate of Arizona Technical Skills Standards.  It stated that she passed the Spring 2022 Technical Skills Assessment which is based on industry-validated technical standards in the 3D field.

She also finished her junior year on the 18th as well.  Since she is only on campus 1/2 the day, she had no finals on the last day of school.  She did have to perform at graduation, so she did have a tiny bit of school on the 19th.  I did not attend the performance, but a few of the performing art teachers took some pics.  I loved seeing pics of Emily performing at graduation.

Award Orchestra Concert

Emily had her Award Orchestra Concert tonight.  It was a great concert and she received a letter in music that she earned of the years.

Emily’s orchestra played 4 songs and each song was amazing.  One of the songs was “Nimrod” which has special meaning for Mr. Nichols.  It was Mr. Nichols’s dad’s favorite song and has great meaning since he recently passed away from pancreatic cancer. The symphony in Nashville played it as a tribute to those in Ukraine.

Memorable Monday
3 year Heaven Anniversary

3 years ago today, we lost our sweet mom.  It was just 3 days shy of Mother’s Day.  She was an amazing woman who had a heart of gold.  She loved being with her family.  She is with us every day holding our hands as we navigate this life without her.  We love you, Mom!!

We have so many memories of my mom.  She loved being the center of attention, especially when the family was around.  She loved to laugh and reminisce about her days as a youth.  We heard many stories of her years living on Flowers Street.  She loved eating at Mi Amigos and shopping at Seagull books.  She loved pizza and diet coke.  She loved spoiling her grandchildren and loved getting them gifts.  She loved to give funny birthday cards to Mel Jones and Marden Pace.  She loved John Wayne, Doris Day, and Ester Williams.  I know that she is enjoying spending time with her mom in heaven.  I know she is playing catch up with her dad since he passed when she was 3.  We miss her terribly but know that she is in Heaven and missing us too.
