Memorable Monday
Kid's 6th Halloween

Here are my kids in their Halloween costumes.  Lisa and I thought that it would be cute for Joey and Angela to dress as Raggedy Ann and Andy.  Lisa sewed the costumes and they looked great together.  It reminded me of Raggedy Ann and Andy sitting in a rocking chair in my parent's house and also in my Grandparent's house.  We will need to make sure that Joey and Angela know that story.  I love taking pics of my kids and Halloween is just another reason to do so.  Lisa really helps them look great for my pics.  I do appreciate that.

Halloween 2016

Halloween started off with the Stake Halloween Dance.  Angela went this year as Olaf the Snowman.  It sounded like she had a good time and I was so glad to see pics of her dancing.

Our Ward had a Trunk or Treat again this year.  We invited the Clawsons to come along with us.  We had a chili cook-off and Danni cooked the chili.  It was really good and we won 3rd place.  I received the award even though Danni cooked the yummy chili.  Josh was scheduled to work, but when he got to work, he was told that he had the night off.  He came to the trunk or treat, but not in a costume.  Jim left his superman shirt at the office, so no costume for his either.  Danni was a watermelon, Angela was Olaf, Emmy was Heromine, and I was Supergirl.

Trunk or Treat
On Halloween, Josh dressed up as a doctor really quick for pictures just before heading off to work.  Danni was Mickey Mouse at work and then put on another watermelon costume on for the evening.  The girls went to a fall party before coming home to go trick or treating with Dad and their cousin, Kenzie.

Biztown

The 6th Graders at Porter went to Biztown .  Emily was selected to be the CFO of the Diamondbacks.  She worked really hard paying the employees and keeping the bank account afloat. I went as a chaperone and worked with the Banner organization.  It was a great experience for the kids to learn how money works.  Emily's company made a profit and she received an award.  This was one of my favorite field trips.

Evening of Excellence

This year's Evening of Excellence was held at Sis. Johnson's house.  The theme was "Be a Pineapple:  Stand tall, wear a crown & be sweet on the inside."  Angela's project this year was giving out flowers in decorated pots.  She hasn't finished the project yet, but will have it done soon. Danni helped her paint a few of the pots.  I loved listening to Danni help Angela.   She plans to decorate 6-8 more pots and deliver them to some of the sisters in the ward.

Ang's project.  She gave the YW one to Sis. Johnson.

The program was great and the YW leaders worked super hard to make the night memorable.  There was a yummy dinner, a nice program where the girls sang, and some Hawaiian dancers.   We even had a fancy Pineapple drink.

This cute sign greeted us at the door.

Resurrected Street Ministry

I registered to serve alongside the members of the RS Presidency to serve at the Resurrection Street Ministry (RSM) Food Book.  Our Stake, through Just Serve, picked an organization to serve.  There were many opportunities to serve, so we picked a date and time that worked best for us.  Sis Morris couldn't make it, so it was just Veda and I.  When I got there, I saw Joella and Jana.  We had the best time boxing up meals for those who would need it.  It was so much fun to serve.

Memorable Monday
Halloween 2007

I started blogging in December of 2007, so I never had the chance to blog about Halloween. We would get dressed up at Lisa's house.  She would help with makeup and I would take pictures.  It was a good setup, at least for me.  We always attended our Trunk or Treat and always have such a good time.  Here are some pictures of Halloween 2007.

Primary Program

Emily sang in her last primary program today. It was such a beautiful program. Since Emmy is my youngest, this was the last primary program that my kids will participate. I've had 17 yrs of watching and listening to my kids sing in the primary program.  I'm going to miss those days!!!!

October Break

MCC doesn't have a fall break and ASU only has a 2 day fall break. It's a tough break, but I'm so proud of them for going to school. It'll pay off!!! We will try not to have to much fun w/o them.

Day 1 - Harry Potter Marathon complete with chocolate pretzel wands, witch hats, butter beer, and many flavored jelly beans. OK, we only made it through 1 movie, but it was fun!!!  Emily is our Harry Potter fan.  She reads the book and then watches the movie.  She will not watch a movie until she has read the book.  A girl after my own heart.

Day 2 - Movies I took my kids to see "Stork". It was a cute movie with great seats.  I took all 4 kids, but only Angela and Emily were willing to stand by the sign.  The movie was cute and it kept my attention.

Day 3 - Lunch & Pumpkins  I took the younger kids to Panda for lunch and then we  visit to the local pumpkin patch. Th whole family went to the pumpkin patch and we picked some great pumpkins, if even they were a bi overpriced.  Danni help the girls paint their pumpkins with glow in the dark paint.  We had a great time spending the time together.

Day 4 - Danni had to go to Tempe for a class project.  They took film cameras and found pics around Tempe.  While she was in Tempe, the girls and I went exploring.  We were going to play at the park, but it was closed, so we headed to the Tempe Center of the Arts.  We walked around Town Lake and had a lot of fun.

Day 5  - We decorated Halloween cookies and talked.  It's hard to find fun stuff to do when it's hot outside and 1/2 my kids have deadlines for college.  This was a simple activities, but not family activities have to be big fancy events.  We had a blast!!!

Day 6 - We attended Mesa's Pumpkin Splash. Our girls swam to find their perfect pumpkin.  We went with Grandma Pace to Brimhall's pool where the girls swam and picked a couple of large pumpkins in the pool.  They had a great time and loved swimming in October.

Day 7 - We made dinner in a Pumpkin. We filled the pumpkin with stew and cooked it in the oven. The pumpkin didn't keep the same very well, so we couldn't show if off for family dinner.  It had a pumpkin taste which I wasn't sure about.  I'm not sure that it was a hit with the family, but it was sup to cook it as a family!!!

Callie’s Shower

Devon is marring this cute girl named Callie.  We attended her shower today and it was so fun to get to know her a little bit better.  It was a great way to welcome Callie into the family.  The food and drinks were amazing - yummy soup and Italian Sodas. It's always fun when we are with the Pace side of the family.
Cousins will Callie
Recipe for Italian Soda - I just asked Kaylynn to make mine.  She makes them extra yummy.

Throw Back Thursday
Tractor

We've had done construction going on just right off our driveway. SRP is doing some work and our driveway is important. I'm not sure what the project is, but it's not easy when we discover that we are locked in our driveway without any notice  I'm glad that Josh's tree was able to help out the workers.  Our street has been CRAZY these past couple of days

We also had our front yard re-piped.  We were losing a lot of water underground, so we bit the bullet and paid to have it re-piped,  It was an interesting process to watch.

All this construction reminded me of a time when we had our friend bring over the  his tractor and take some dirt in our back yard to fill his pool.  The tractor was a great help to haul all that dirt away. I had to snap a photo with my family.  I think the little girls were scared of it when it was running.

Boyce Thompson Arboretum

Danni and I went to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum this morning. She went there to help her fulfill her scholarship at MCC. We each took a camera and snapped away. It was fun to spend that time with Danni.   I would totally go again!!

My pics

Danni took really great pics and has an eye for photography  She took great pictures ar the Arboretum.  Here are just of few of them.
