Thanksgiving 2019

We had thanksgiving at the Paces this year.  I invited the Clawsons to join us this year, since my mom passed away and my dad is currently living in Utah.  It was nice to have Lisa and her family over. Cortney and Ashley with her family joined us too.   I know that it was hard not to have Thanksgiving with my parents this year.  It seems as that everyone had a great time.
Turkey on the Grill

When we arrived at Jon and Mindy's house, we found out that their oven was no longer working.  Jon is very inventive and had the turkey cooking on the grill.  It turned out to be really good.  We  had amazing food and great company.  Angela and I made an apple pie from scratch to bring to the dinner.  It was so yummy and everyone complimented Angela on her yummy pie.  It really was good.  We ate, talked, and played games.  It was Cortney's birthday today, we went gave her a slice of Pumpkin Pie and sang Happy Birthday to her.  Some years her birthday lies on Thanksgiving, including the day she was born.  Kaylynn was with her husband's family, but they just popped over after dinner to say hi, Danni and Bree were happy to see her.

Brigham and Danni went to have dinner with the Gaytan family.  I'm glad that she was able to spend some time with us before heading over to Gaytans.  She showed me this great picture of Manny eating a turkey wing.  It's priceless!!

Last Evening of Excellence

Emily had her last YW in Excellence last night, due to the church discontinuing the Personal Progress program.  It was neat to see everyone's last project.  Emily worked on an art project,  She is a really good artist and I'm happy that she can show the members of the ward her artwork.

I'm sad to hear that the Persona Progress program is ending.  I'm just glad that each of my girls had the same opportunity to be in the same program that I was in when I was in Young Women's.  I'm anxious to see how the new program will work out.  I'm hoping to embrace it just as I've embraced Personal Progress.

Rain

When it rains in AZ, you just go out and play in it.  Or wait til it stops and then go take pictures.  I do a little of both.  Taking pics of Manny in the rain was the best.

Veterans Day

My cousin Barbara came to town a week before Veteran's Day to attend a week long conference.  Lisa and I went to lunch with her before she headed to her conference.  I picked Barbara up from her conference on Veteran's Day.  She spent the day at my house until her flight later that evening.  We went to lunch with Danni, Angela, Emmy, and Manny.  It was great to hang with Barbara and have lunch with my girls.

Pirates of Penzance

Angela and I went to see the Pirates of Penzance at the MAC.  Alice Johnson was performing in the musical and we wanted to see her.  It was great to see her perform on stage and fun to watch.  I had never seen this musical before, so I was very intrigued with the plot.  There was a fun plot twist half way through the muscial where we find out that the main character was born on leap day.  I loved the plot twist and shared with Alice and her family that that Angela's birthday.  It just added more to the experience.  I was so excited to see this musical with Angela.  We had a lot of fun.

Memorable Monday
Crafts

My girls and I have done some crafts this fall and I wanted to show them off.  I love the finished product of crafts, but I'm not a fan of doing them.  I usually see if someone can help me, but this year, I did my own craft.  I think about crafts too logically.  I enjoyed seeing my daughters craft.  The enjoy the process as well as the final product.

Danni, Angela and I made these cute signs and wreaths in RS today. It was super fun.  I chased down Manny, so I finished my sign at home.  It was fun to have Danni and Angela with me this year on craft day.  I loved bouncing ideas off them and getting the help that I needed.  We are a great time doing crafts together.

Emmy did a painting in YW.  I think they called it a Bob Ross night.  It's a beautiful painting - she did a really good job.  Emmy is the artist in the family, so this YW activity really spoke to her heart.

Here is some of Emily's art work that she did on her own time.  I love her shading work.  She is very talented.

Happy 15th Em

Happy 15th to my fun, loving, spunky 15 yr. old daughter. She is such a talented, sweet girl who makes life much for more in our household. Love ya Em!!!
Facebook Shoutout

Emmy came home from school with some gifts for her friend, Mason.  I think Mason really likes her, but they can only be friends for a very long time.  She is not allowed to date til she is 16 years, which is now a year away.

We went to dinner at Applebees to celebrate her birthday and she ordered her favorite - steak.  It's been a fun tradition that we started years ago.

Applebees

Her birthday cake is the perfect size for her.  I love getting little bundlets for my kids on the birthday.  I usually buy one for them and another for me.  The bundlets are still kind of big, so we end up sharing them.

Happy Birthday Emily!!  She is such a fun, smart, funny, spunky girl.  Everyone in the family thinks the world of her.  She is a quiet girl outside of the home, but she is not quiet at home.  She is a very special addition to our family when she arrived 15 years ago.  We love having her in our family. We love her!!!

Color Run

Our Ward held a coloring run at Silvergate park to say goodbye to Personal Progress.  A girl in our ward planned it and asked if I would take pictures for it.  I was thrilled to be asked and to participate.  The girls started off with white shirts and then as they past each station, the leaders/parents would throw paint on them representing a color in YW.  The girls had fun and enjoyed sending off the Personal Progress off in style.
