Playing with the Leaves

Today is the first day of fall. YAY!!!! Playing in fall leaves is fun. Watching your kids play in leaves in amazing. Have pics to remember those days - priceless.  Danni took dance lessons through the City of Mesa.  One day while waiting for her, Josh and Emily played with the fall leaves.  It was fun to watch and snap pictures.

Christmas Concerts

Music has always played a special part in Christmas since I was in school.  I had Christmas concerts at school and played at the malls.  I'm so glad that my kids were involved in music during their elementary school days all the way up to high school.  I love Christmas music and attending my kid's Christmas concerts is like the cherry on an ice cream sundae.  Here are the Christmas concerts for this year.

Dec. 6th - Angela's Choir FestivalI was able to accompany Angela to her choir festival.  It was so fun to be there and see her sing and perform.  She really lights up the stage when she performs.

Dec. 6th - Emily's Orchestra Concert - Emily had her orchestra concert and it was really good.  I'm so glad that Emily decided to play the violin.  It really warms her mom's heart.

Dec. 8th - Angela's Choir Concert - I went to Utah and missed Angela's concert.  I love watching Angela sing and was so sad to have missed it.  Jim took a picture for me after the concert.  This made me very happy.

Fun times in the Rain

The remnants of a Hurricane came through AZ.  It has happened a few times now, and everytime one comes up through the Gulf of California the news tells us that there will be lots of rain.  We get so excited and then become disappointed that there wasn't a lot of rain.  The people in AZ love their rain and a jealous when other in the valley get rain and they don't.  I talking about good rain that don't cause floods or damage.  No one wants that and we truly feel for those that receive that kind of damage.  When it rains, we stop everything we are doing and go outside to play.  Rain doesn't happen often in Mesa, so when it does, we need to go out and celebrate.  Besides, we have a new roof we need to check out.

When it rains, my kids go look for their coats to put on.  It's not cold, but it's raining, so they feel coats are needed.  There is often a lot of water by our driveway, so after the rain, the kids love to play in the water.  Dams are usually built with rocks and leaves  The rainstorms are short, so there is only a small window to play in the water.  Here are some great memories made while playing in the rain,
I'm really missing the rain right now

Me as a toddler

Life has been super crazy lately with 4 kids going to 4 different schools - 2 of which are college.  3 drivers with only 2 cars.  It seems that I'm the one left without a car.  Callings that take my family in every which direction.  Life is super busy and I love it that way.  Sometimes, it's nice to have a lazy day and reflect on the easy days.  I just don't remember when those were.  I think I may have found a time period when life was relatively easy - Toddlerhood.  I had no responsibilities.  All I needed to do was eat. sleep, and play.
When Life was Easy

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE my life.  I love how busy my kids are and that they are moving their lives in the right direction.  They are so busy and make the most of their time.  It's just nice to stop and relax too.
