New Years Eve Dance

Angela wanted to go the New Year's Eve Dance this year.  Because New Year's Eve is on a Sunday, the dance was held on a Saturday night.  I went with her and stayed in the shadows and he hung out and danced the night away with her friends.   The dance was sponsored by the Mesa Stake, so I was able to talk with Kathryn and Callie.  Callie and I wore the same dress and I was able to get a pic iwth her.  YAY!!!  I did a great snapshot of her before Angela and the 2018 sign before she found her friends.  I'm so glad that she was able to be with her peers for her first and last New Year's Eve Dance with the youth.

Car Accident

Jim was in a really bad car accident just before Christmas.  He was rear-ended and the force of the impact pushed the car forward and hit the car in front of him really hard.  It was a bad accident and we are so lucky that the only injury that Jim sustained was the serious bruising of his legs.  The lady that hit him showed an insurance card, but did not have insurance which is a little costly for us.  Again, we are so lucky that Jim wasn't seriously injured.
Jim's wrecked car and bruised knees
Jim's car was totaled, that much was obvious.  We needed to rent a car until Jim found a car that he wanted to purchase.  Ever since Danni bought a Camry, Jim has learned to love this model of car.  We were thrilled when the rental company had one that we could rent.  The rental was a newer Camry and we loved some of the bells and whistles that the car offered.  It was a sad day to return the rental when Jim purchased his new car.

Jim found a Camry to purchase - YAY!!!  He only looked at Camrys because they are easier to replace the starter and alternator.  He watched a lot of videos to see how to replace both and decided that he would only buy a Camry.  He loves his new car  Josh does too!!

Christmas 2017

1- RS Christmas Party - We had a breakfast party at Ginnie's house.  We had a breakfast, Ugly Sweater contest, and a White Elephant gift exchange.  It was a great way to start the day and the Christmas season.  I was in charge of this event and I was a nervous wreck until it was over.  It turned out to be a sweet event and I'm glad.

2- Christmas Lights - We walked around to see the Christmas Lights.  It was a bittersweet walk knowing that the temple will be closing for a couple of years and they are totally redoing the grounds.  The Christmas lights will look totally different when the temple reopens.

3- YW/YM Gingerbread Houses - My girls along with the young men and young women decorated gingerbread houses for an mutual activity.  The houses turned out great!!

3- Ward Christmas Party - We had a Bethlehem Christmas Party.  The decor was amazing - it was like we were in Bethlehem.  We could dress the part, hence the costume that I failed to put together.  It was fun to have Danni and Brigham with us too.

4- Christmas Sunday - I love Christmas Sunday where we can all go to church in new Sunday clothes.  My daughters look darling and Josh looks as handsome as ever.  Jim and I don't look too bad ourselves.  Sure missed Danni.

5- Christmas Eve - We had our Christmas Eve party at Jon and Mindy's house.  We had a full house, but one filled with love.  Mindy decorated the table really beautiful and made it possible for us all to eat inside.  We played "Minute to Win It" games.  Afterwards Grandpa Pace gave us blankets.  The blankets were such a big hit with everyone.  After the party, we headed home to open some gifts and get ready for Santa.

6- Christmas Day - We had such a great Christmas. Danni and Brigham came over to visit with us for part of the day.  I love it when my parent stop by the house for a visit.  Debbie bought my mom the craziest Christmas sweater and she wore it on Christmas day.  I love my mom and her love of Christmas.

Memorable Monday
12 Days of Christmas

We did the 12 Days of Christmas as a family.  I also did one for Brigham and Danni and another one for Jim.  It was a fun way to extend Christmas.  I wanted to look back at the last 12 days to see what we did as a family for the 12 Days of Christmas.

Day 1 - We opened a present which had 5 mugs that we could use for all the hot cocoa we will be drinking.

Day 2- We went to Freddy's as a family.  As you can see, we thought it was yummy!!!

Day 3 - We watched ELF and had the best of snacks.  What a super fun movie!!!  Love hearing Jim laugh.

Day 4 - We went to Merry Main Street. We had LOTS of funnel cake and hoped to ride the train to see Santa.  There was such a long line, that we decided against it.  We had a lot of fun!!!

Day 5 - We watched "A Christmas Story Live!!"  Jim and I loved the original Christmas Story and were excited to see the remake.  I think in the end, I was the only one watching it.  It was too long and didn't keep my girl's attention.

Day 6 - We had Sodalicious hot cocoa and drove around to see the Christmas Lights.

Day 7 - Frost Cookies - We frosted some cookies and ate them.

Day 8 - Hot Cocoa at Fiiz - YUMMY!!

Day 9 - Family Exchange Party

Day 10 - After 3 tries we finally got to see Star Wars.

Day 11 - Barneys came up and we went shopping with Briley.

Day 12 - We went to the Pace's Christmas Party and go super soft blankets.

It was a lot of fun to do the 12 Days of Christmas.  I think it added to our Christmas experience.
