Park with the Walls

Jeff and Lauren came down to AZ to visit Lauren's grandparents and see us,  We had dinner at the park and then played.  It was fun to visit with them.  We each brought our own dinner and shared dessert..  The adults talked while the kids played.  Jim, Danni, and Manny went for a long walk and Kenzie and Emily finally joined them.  We went to Pioneer Park and they went to go see the statue at the south end of the park.  They love to look at the statue with their ancestor - Francis Pomeroy.   The kids loved the playground, especially the rolling slide.  Last time, I was near the rolling slide was when we were there with my parents.  They watched the kids go down the slide.  It brought back some sweet memories as I watched the kids and adults go down the slide.   I made sure that we took pictures since I failed with the Paces.  I didn't take a lot, but I got some good ones.  It was a great visit and everyone had a good time.

Memorable Monday
Julietta Gomes

Natalia Lopes reported to us that her mother passed away while taking  nap.  Angela and Julieta had a special relationship.  Every Sunday after Sacrament Meeting, Angela was talking to Julieta.  They made each other feel special and I'll always treasure their relationship.  Julietta was always making her cards and giving her gifts.  She made a beautiful crochet pillow for Angela one Easter.  It was beautiful and made Angela feel so loved.  Angela always had a smile for Julietta.  I think they were kindred spirits.  Julietta moved up to Salt Lake a few years ago to a Portuguese Branch.  She struggled with English and wanted to attend church in her native tongue and get to know her grandchildren.  After several years living up in SLC, she moved back to Brazil.  It had been several years since we have seen Julietta and Natalia moved up to SLC too.  We will always remember Julietta and her sweet relationship with Angela.

Park with Paces

It's been a year since we went to the park last time with the Paces.  We have been keeping our distance due to COVID.  Two weeks after Grandma and Grandpa Pace got their vaccination, we had a get together., this time at Counrtyside Park.  The rest of us already had COVID, so we felt it was safe to have a family gathering.  I didn't take many pics because we were too busy talking and catching up.  We had such a great time hearing all the latest news and watching the next generation.  Devon and Callie are expecting a baby girl, Jenna and Kaylynn's babies were getting so big, Ryan is a missionary doing the home MTC, Riley brought his fiancé for us to meet.  We missed Josh and Kade, but they were there in spirit.  There was a cute moment when Manny and Jordan were running around and screaming in delight.  I think that was how we all felt being there together at the park.

Easter 2006

For Easter 2006. we did events with both the Clawsons and the Paces.  We did our traditional Easter activities: Easter Egg Hunt and Dyeing Easter Eggs at my house.  We always have a lot of fun.  This year, we had an Easter Egg Hunt with the Pace family too.  We had pizza at the park and hunted for eggs afterwards.  We had a great Easter.  Emily was 1, Angela was 6, Danni was 8, and Josh was 9.

Spring Break Trip 2021

We went to Utah for Spring Break.  We waited until Thursday to go up so Danni could spend her birthday in Mesa and Manny could spend time with his dad.  It snowed off and on our trip which was so fun for us Arizonans.  We made good time and were able to see my dad before he went to bed.  It was good to see him and talk with him.  It took me awhile to figure out the ham radio again.

The next day, we took dad to lunch to Tonysburgers.  I order from them for my dad through Grub Hub a lot and thought it was fitting to go there.  Afterward, we took dad to Jeff's house and hung out until he was tired and ready to go home.  We hung out some more and just played with Jeff's kids.  Later that night, we watched Raya with them.  It was a good movie and it is always fun to watch movies with Jeff's family.

The next day, we picked up dad and headed to the Air Force Museum.  We had a great time viewing the planes and taking pictures.  Manny really loved sitting on the scooter that we got for my dad.  He even got upset when Jacob took his turn.  Luckily, Jacob thought sitting on his dad's shoulders was just as cool, so Manny could ride with Grandpa most of the time.  Steve along with Drew and Audrey came to see us after the visit to the Museum.  It was great to see Steve and his kids and talk with them.  After lunch and some time visiting, both Steve and dad returned home.  We went to play in the park and take a picture that Danni really wanted.  It was cold and rainy so we didn't stay too long.  We did enjoy watching the kids play, especially in the tennis courts.  We drove by a couple of home that John Pack built that were in Bountiful.

Sunday, we went to the cemetery to visit my mom's gravesite.  Steve and his whole family joined us as we paid our respects to mom.  It was awesome to be there with my brothers and their families and dad.  We usually go alone or bring dad, so it was great for us all to be there.   I know that my mom would love visitors from her family often,  We will never forget her.  Afterward, we went back to Jeff's house for lunch.  We worked really hard on the meatloaf that we prepared.  Everyone added their contribution to it and it tasted better than we could have ever imagined.

Monday, we went to Hogle Zoo to meet up with the UT Paces.  Iralee and her kids were late and since Lauren helped us get into the Zoo, we spent 1/2th the time at the Zoo with each family.  The zoo is fun but after 5 hrs. we think we saw each anima twice, not really but it seemed that way.  We drove around SLC getting a shirt for Keith that he got wet, and finding our way to the nearest Costa Vida.  Mardy and Felicity joined us for dinner.  It was nice to talk to Iralee and listen to Mardy and Jim talk code.

Tuesday morning, we headed to Creekside to say goodbye to Grandpa and then headed home.  It wasn't necessarily an eventful drive and that's what we wanted.  We did find a green dinosaur at the gas station that needed a pic with Manny.

We had a great visit and we were so glad to have the opportunity to take dad out of Creekside to have some great family time.  We really miss him and are so blessed that we have the opportunity to be able to visit him as often as we do.
