My Superhero

My knight in shining armor - today my truck died several times. Jim came to my rescue and limped my poor truck home. I wish all my truck needed today was a good scrub.

Jim is always there to help me when I truck has issues and today they were serious.  I  can count on him to come get me, to coach me through the problem, and fix it.  We have a serious issue that stranded me at ASU several times.  We knew what the issue was and knew that it could cause a problem, it just happened sooner that we thought.  We were able to get the truck a few miles up the street when we knew that we needed to leave it and come up with a new plan.    He later was able to go back and bring the truck home   It's comforting to know that Jim is there to help me and not just with truck issues.  He is a great guy.  He is my Superhero

Homecoming

I love Homecoming and some of it's traditions.  I watched the Homecoming Parade with Angela.  After school she met me after school and we watched the parade together.  Angela knows a lot of people and they would wave at her when they saw her.  She smiled and waved back.  She has a lot of friends at Mesa High.  She even let me take a picture of her and the jackrabbit.

I went to the Homecoming Game with Danni and Brigham.  It was neat to see Mesa High honor Zedo and Vai Sikahema.  Zedo is the football player that Mesa High honors every year with the Carry On theme,  and song.   He is behind almost every tradition that Mesa High has.  Vai was a former Mesa High football player who eventually went on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles.  They honored a couple more football players, but I didn't recognize the names.  I enjoyed watching Joey perform on the stands and on the field.  Marching Band will always have a place in my heart.  I enjoyed watching the football game with Brigham and Danni.  I enjoy football, so it was nice to watch it with Brigham who also enjoys football.   I've missed going to football games.

Danni is Engaged

So, Danni is officially engaged to Brigham.  They met in high school while preparing for the tradition assembly.  They have dated for 2 yrs.  Brigham is a great kid and he loves Danni.  It's been great getting to know him these past 2 yrs.  We are happy for them both.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars

Josh was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars today at ASU.  He has worked so hard in college and it shows.  The induction was held at ASU Tempe and they provided some refreshments before the ceremony.  It was a nice ceremony and something that he can put on his resume.  Jim and I went to support him.  It gave us a chance to walk around Tempe ASU.   I love to walk around ASU and remember my time there are a college student.  Congratulations Josh on your achievement!!!

Memorable Monday First Day of Junior High

School has been in session for a month and Emmy is doing well.  All of my kids started Junior High at Taylor.  Here are pics of each of them in front of Taylor.  My siblings and I didn’t go to the same Jr. High, so I think it is cool that my kids do.  I actually went to a middle school which had grades 6-8.

When Josh went to Taylor, it was had grades 7-9.  He was at Taylor for 2 years and went to MHS for 9th grade.  Danni was a Taylor for 2 years, one of which included the last class of 9th graders at Taylor.  Taylor has to make a lot of changes and  Danni’s class saw the most changes at Taylor  Angela and Emily will only know Taylor as a 2 yr. school.  

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great Labor Day Weekend - Fiiz, Movies, and lunch.  There is always fun things to do in the valley so we don't have to go away up north.  It's gets hard to get together when the kids get older, but I'm so glad when we make the effort.  Family time is the best!!
