Braces Off

Before and After Photos

Angela got her braces off today.  WOW!!  She looks so great and I'm so happy for her.  Her teeth look great!!!  We started off with Robinson Orthodontics, but he sold the Mesa office and we ended up at East Valley Orthodontist with Dr. Yetter.  He is a great and kind orthodontist and made Angela feel like she was  doing her best.  Angela struggled getting her bands on and that become my responsibility.  He understood that and made me feel like I was doing a great job.   They gave her permanent retainers on both top and bottom with just a plastic retainer on top.  They feel that this is what will work best with Angela.  I was thrilled that she didn't have to wear a retainer day and night for awhile.  She looks great and we will NOT miss the braces

Angela sees her teeth without braces for the first time.

Party at Gaytans

Danni and Brigham moved down from Show Low at the end of July.  Brigham and Danni slowly moved down to Mesa  It took about a month for them to move down.  We helped them move down as much as we could.  Jim and Josh took a trip to Show Low to bring Danni and the trailer to Mesa. Brigham stayed another week and then came down with his car.  I will remember the memories made during her move down, especially when she stay with us for a week.  I'm so glad that Brigham and Danni are living back in Mesa.   After living in their apartment for a month, they invited over for a swim, pizza, movie party.  It was a lot of fun.

Memorable Monday
Dr. Holmes

Since Danni moved to AZ, she needed a new OB.  She did a Facebook search and decided to go with Dr. Holmes.  He used to be my OB and delivered all 4 of my kids.  When I saw him, he gave me a hug.  I was surprised.  Did he remember me.  I hadn't been to his office for 14 years.  I told him that he delivered all my children  Danni really liked Dr. Holmes office.  She noticed how caring the nurses are and how they helped her with her insurance.  It was fun to go with her to her doctor's appt. and reminisce.  I recognized 2 out of the 3 nurses there.  It was like going back in time and reliving those years when I was pregnant.  Now, I get to be there with Danni.   Dr, Holmes hasn't changed a bit.  I never imagined that Dr. Holmes would be my daughter's OB and be there to deliver my grandson.  So Cool!!

First Weeks of School

School is started this month and there was a lot going on.  Emily is going into 8th grade this year at Taylor.  I was unable to take her to the Open House, so we went with some friends.
Fun at Open House

Last year the Taylor staff asked the kids to wear black and gold to represent the school colors.  Danni and I found this cute shirt for Emmy to wear on the first day of school  I'm not sure if they want the kids to wear black and gold this year, but Emmy looks super cute in this black shirt.

First Day of 8th Grade

Angela is done with school, so we went to get some lunch and celebrate.  She loves the idea of sleeping in and having lunch with mom.  We need to plan something for Angela to do, but for now, she is enjoys spending the time at home with me eating her frosty.
Yummy Frosty
Emmy came home from school the first week and announced that she is the treasurer of her orchestra class.  How cool is that!!  Emmy is in the top orchestra class this year and I'm so proud of her.

Josh stared his senior year this year at ASU a week after Emmy started school.  He has a heavy load this year.  He is taking one class as a graduate student so he needs to work really hard this semester.  His history class is finished half way through the semester, so he really needs to crank on that class.
First Day as an ASU senior
MCC started the Monday after ASU and these 3 are taking an Institute class together.  I'm so glad that the boys are taking Angela to Institute.  She really needs to get out and hang with her peers.  Institute class is such a great way to start the day.  Josh is taking an Institute class at Poly as well, so this makes 2 institute classes for him this semester.  He usually takes 2 institute classes at Poly.

Nursery Worker

Angela was called to serve in the Nursery.  She helps out during the 1st hour so she can go to RS.  She plays with the kids and has a great time.  This is such a perfect calling for her.  She was reluctant at first, but after seeing what nursery was all about, she decided that it was for her.  We love Angela and are so proud of her willingness to serve the members of the ward.

Utah Paces Visit

The Utah Paces came to visit AZ after their San Diego trip.  We stopped by to visit them at Grandma and Grandpa's House and play video games with them.  We played the cooking game them in San Diego, so it was fun to play the game with them again.

We also had a pizza night at Kathryn's church.  It was fun to see Jim talk to his brothers.  They had a lot of great job advice for him.  We got a chance to hold Jordan for awhile.  He is so fun to hold.  It was fun to practice holding a newborn.  Myrna planned on having family pics, but so many people couldn't make it.  Iralee and Seph had to fly home just shortly after they arrived in AZ.  I wanted to get a pictures of Marden and Myrna and their 4 kids.  It was nice to get together with the Paces and see all of Marden and Myrna's kids in the same room.    We missed Josh, he had to work

Memorable Monday
First Day of Fifth Grade

As school approaches on Wednesday, I look back at my kid's first day back to school.  This year, I look back to 5th Grade.  It's always fun to see my kid's pics back to back at the same age.  All of kids attended Porter in 5th Grade.  Both Josh and Danni had Mrs. Brown as a 5th grade teacher in 5th Grade, while Emmy had Mrs. Lenz.  Angela was in the Special Ed program at Porter.  She did really well in that program.  Danni and Angela look like they are excited to school  Emmy's looks like she is not so sure, while Josh looks like he is dreading it.

Jordan’s Blessing

The day after we returned from San Diego, we went to Jordan's Blessing.  Jarom and Jenna live in the same ward as Stuart and Kathryn, so it was like a small reunion.  It reminded me when the Turley's were blessed.  They were all blessed in that ward.
