Laurel Retreat

Danni and Angela went to San Diego for a Laurel Retreat.  They went to the baptisms at the temple, played at the beach, and visited the Mormon Battalion. Here are the pictures that Danni and others sent me.

This is such a sweet picture of the two of them. They bonded a lot during this last camping trip as Josh helped his dad before, during, and after the camping trip.

Camping Trip 2016

My family
Lisa and her three youngest kids came camping with us at our favorite campground - Rock Crossing.  Joey just returned from a three week camping job at Camp Raymond, so he wan't thrilled to be there.  We had a lot of fun relaxing, teasing Joey, visiting the lake, teasing Joey, playing in the rain, teasing Joey, playing cards, and mostly teasing Joey.  He makes it so easy to tease, so we did it often.  I think he enjoyed the attention.   It was such a great camping trip and I really enjoyed getting away.  Danni didn't make this camping trip and we missed her.

Memorable Mondays
Callings

I was just called to serve as in the Relief Society as the second counselor.  This was the second time that I was asked to serve in this calling and third time in a RS calling.

*The first time was with Sis. Diemler, Valerie Tanner, and Sabrina Taylor.  Kelli Riding was just released and I took her spot.  I served for a few months until Sis. Diemler was released.  Kelli Riding was called to be the new RS president and I was asked to serve as her 2nd counselor,   I was released and then called to serve as the secretary.  I served with Kelli, Michele Manners, and Carolyn Greene.  I learned so much serving with these women.  I was still fairly new to the ward and this gave me a chance to get to know the sisters in the ward.

*The second time around, I served with Alayne Favreau, Lori Neilsen, and Cathie Buckmister.  I again served again as the RS Secretary.  I loved serving with these women and learned so much from them.

*This time around, I'm serving with Jeanne Morris, Veda Pendleton, and Sharilyn Larsen.  This time around, I'm serving as the second counselor again.  I'm nervous, but know that the Lord is with me and will help me.

Currently, our family has the following callings:
Jim - High Priest Secretary
Josh - Asst. Ward Mission Leader
Danni - Primary Teacher

Johnny& Carol

Johnny has been living in China for a few years.  He married a girl named Carol, who is from China.  Johnny and Carol  came to America to visit.  Grandma and Grandpa Pace had a dinner so that we could catch up with Johnny again and meet his wife.  Carol was very sweet as we talked with her.  We have a big family and she was probably overwhelmed.  It was nice to see Johnny again and reminisce.  I hope we see them again soon.

Memorable Monday
Journal Entry July 7, 2004

June was a very busy month for us.  Dani had her dance concert.  She said that she would be to scared to dance in front of so many people.  She did a great job.  She danced to two songs.  She wore a cute clown outfit and a ballet outfit.  I included a picture of her and her dance mates before the show.  We couldn't take pictures because the show was being recorded professionally.

Jim survived scout camp.  Actually, he enjoyed going to Camp Raymond.  It was a great time to bond with my children.  Wait! I do that every day.  Jim was able to talk to us most nights.  The Sunday following camp, he spoke with the other leaders and scouts that went.  It was neat to hear about camp.

The kids have been busy.  Josh and Dani spent a month doing Kids in Action.  A fun program for them to participate in.  It was great to have something for my kids to do.  We are finishing swim lessons tomorrow.  We have a month of swim lessons also.  Josh was moved up a level the very first day.  I was so proud of him.  I take the parent-tot class with my nephew Joey.  It has been fun to play with him in the water.  It is great exercise and a great way to cool off.

The fourth of July weekend was a lot of fun.  Saturday, we went to a church breakfast and a parade around the neighborhood.  The kids decorated bikes, scooters, wagons and went around the neighborhood.  Afterwards, there was watermelon and an ice cold water fight.  That was Josh's favorite part.  Angela was in the middle laughing.  Luckily, she didn't get very wet.  Jim participated in the flag ceremony before breakfast and helped cook.  On Sunday, we went to see the fireworks.  We got great seats and only waited 15 min. On Monday, we went to see Shrek 2.  It was a great weekend and I survived my 28th birthday.

In about 2 weeks, my side of the family is going camping just north of Bryce Canyon in Utah.  It is going to be fun.  The kids have waited for their turn to go camping with their dad.  Jim is excited to go, even though he just got back from scout camp.  I checked yesterday on the internet, and they said there was no fire restrictions.  It's hard to imagine that.  If so, I'm glad that we are going to Utah.

Everyone is doing well.

4th of July

Our neighborhood has a 4th of July tradition that starts early in the morning with a ward breakfast and neighborhood parade.  Danni and I went shopping for 4th of July apparel for the occasion.  I love waking up and spending the morning with friends and family.  I really enjoying taking pictures of my family.  I think I enjoy that most of all.  I have a good family that lets me take a lot of pictures.  It was a great morning.  Afterwards, birthday celebration
