MacFarland State Park and Casa Grande Ruins

Our kids and I went on a little road trip.  We headed to Florence to see the MacFarland State Park, which was a museum that housed an old sheriff's office, jail, DA's office, and courthouse.  It was fun to walk around and see the place, especially the courthouse. I just received my jury summons, so I checked out the court every inch of that courthouse.  Since Emily missed an English assignment, we played that she was in court and Josh sentenced her to jail.  Emmy was such a good sport and played along.  It was such a great experience and so much fun.  I don't think Em will ever miss an assignment again.  The funny thing was she had already handed in that assignment, but it wasn't reflected in her grades, so we gave her a hard time.

Ang was the DA, Josh was the judge, and Emily sentenced to jail
Having fun at the museum
Afterwards, we headed just a few miles East to the Casa Grande National Park,  There are some cool Indian ruins to see.  We helped the park rangers by coloring some paper bags that they will use later that week for an special event.  The ruins were really cool to see.

Casa Grand Ruins
This was a fun road trip that only took 1/2 a day, but it was a lot of fun.  We bonded as we toured the museum and ruins.  We even went to lunch afterwards.  I want to have more experiences like this with my family.
