UT Bear Lake Trip

On Thursday, we traveled to Utah.  Josh, Danni, and Manny flew up while the rest of us drove up.  While waiting for Josh, Danni, and Manny to arrive, we had dinner at the park and played with Mardy, Iralee, and 4 of their kids.  We had a great time and enjoyed each other's company.

Mardy and Iralee's family - Taft joined us later
Iralee took us on a walk - perfect park

On Friday, we went to see my dad.  It was fun to talk with him using our ham radios.  We went to lunch at Tony's.  I had to check out the place since I GrubHub him a hamburger from there every Monday  I realized that I had been there before the night before Jacob was born.  After lunch, we headed to the cemetery to see my Mom's grave.  It was great to be there with the whole family.  She would have loved that.  We returned back to Jeff and Lauren's house and Angela gave a box of My Little Ponies to the twins.  They loved them which made Angela very happy.  We later returned to see my dad with Jeff's family. All the kids took turns talking on the ham radio and tickling me.  My dad had a huge smile as was so happy.  It was worth being tickled the whole time to see that smile.  We had dinner and sat outside on the green grass looking at the temple enjoying the cool weather.  Addy, Jeff, and Angela even put on a show for us.
Talking to my dad and vising with my mom's gravesite

On Saturday, we went to see my dad.  Steve and Rachel joined us while we visited with dad.  It's was good when I can get together with my brothers.  After visiting with my brother, we headed up to Bear Lake,  We stopped by Subway for lunch and the Creamery for ice cream.  Lauren's grandpa loves to serve ice cream after dinner.  I tried the lemon ice cream after dinner and it was yummy.  When we arrived at Bear Lake, it didn't take long before we ended up in the lake.  We had a great time swimming and paddleboarding.  After dinner, there was a water fight.  We even played a round of Bocce ball.  That was a really fun game and Angela was the key player.  The kids had a great time launching the water balloons.  That evening, we roasted marshmallows and had smores while talking about the comet that was visible after dark.  We stayed up late to see a glimpse of the tail.  I think one needs a telescope to get a good view of the comet.
Our family had a lot of fun!!

Fun with cousins
We had fun in the lake

Sunday morning, Jim and I had to head to Logan to get some stuff that was left behind.  After lunch, some of us napped, while the rest of us went on a hike just east of the lake.  I loved the hike and I'm so glad that I went.  I loved that 1/2 the hike was shaded and that there were a lot of aspen trees.  It was fun to watch the kids run around and be free.  It was nice to just sit and enjoy the view of the lake while we colored and talked.  That night, Danni took pics of the Wall kids.  It was fun to see the kids in action: riding their cars, interacting with their grandparents, watching movies, and just playing.    Later that night, the kids went through shells that cover park part of the beach.
Everyone LOVES Angela!!

Selfies at the lake
Danni and Manny were able to join us.
Manny had fun!!

Great  View
Monday morning, we packed up and cleaned the cabin, we stopped by the local soda shop and got some spudnuts in Logan.  We had lunch at In-N-Out before heading to see my dad.  It was great to talk to him again.  He was thrilled to know that the kids tickled me throughout our trip to Bear Lake  Jacob and the twins always found some time to tickle me.  We napped and talked for the rest of the day and ended the evening at Neilsns Frozen Yogurt.  Danni as always wanted to try that every time she goes to UT, but it is always closed when she tries.  I really wanted to go there for her.  I think we supported more food joints today then any other day.
Great memories with couins

Tuesday morning, we went to visit with my dad before heading home.  I'm going to miss him a lot, but so glad that we made the trip up to see him.  We dropped Josh, Danni, and Manny off at the Provo airport and headed home.

We really enjoyed our trip and so glad that we were able to make it happen due to COVID.
