Youth Lake Trip

The youth went on a lake trip.  I give my kids a camera, hoping that I'll get some good pics.  I did get some great ones.  Some of them came from their leaders, which I totally appreciate.  Thanks!!!

Bruce

Jim had a visitor - Bruce.  These two guys are great friends and I'm so glad that they had some time to catch up.  Bruce moved from CA back to AZ, so hopefully they can see more of each other.

First Day of School

The kids started school today and I had the hold signs to indicate which grade they were going to.  I found this idea on the internet and had to try it; out.

I'm really going to miss my kids now that school is in session.  Since school started on a Wednesday, the older three had late start.  I love that I had have all my kids home for a group picture  Tomorrow, the older kids have A hour and have to be at school at 6:15.  Emily had early release, so I was able to pick her up early and hear all about her day.

Locks of Love

Angela cut her hair and donated it to "Locks of Love".   I sat down and talked to Angela what the organization was and how her donation could help others.  She was willing to cut her hair and donate it.  She looks so cute and grown up with her new hair cut.

Memorable Monday
Mr. Tingey

Porter has a new principal, Mrs. Paula Warren.  We were invited to come and meet her before school started.  She seems like she will be a good principal for Porter.  She has a Texan accent and I love to hear her talk.

I remember my elementary school principal, Mr. Tingey from Maeser Elementary.  He was a family friend and we were often invited to his house to socialize.  I remember that he gave Lisa and I are hard time because he knew us.  One time we went to his house and we watched in horror as he cut off a chicken's head.  The chicken keep moving after his head was cut off and he explained why.  I think we had the chicken for dinner.  I remember Mr. Tingey because he was a family friends as well as our principal.

Playing the Clarinet

Now that Band Camp has started, it was fun to Throw Back to Josh's first band concert in 5th grade.  He looks so young back then.
