UT Bear Lake Trip

On Thursday, we traveled to Utah.  Josh, Danni, and Manny flew up while the rest of us drove up.  While waiting for Josh, Danni, and Manny to arrive, we had dinner at the park and played with Mardy, Iralee, and 4 of their kids.  We had a great time and enjoyed each other's company.

Mardy and Iralee's family - Taft joined us later
Iralee took us on a walk - perfect park

On Friday, we went to see my dad.  It was fun to talk with him using our ham radios.  We went to lunch at Tony's.  I had to check out the place since I GrubHub him a hamburger from there every Monday  I realized that I had been there before the night before Jacob was born.  After lunch, we headed to the cemetery to see my Mom's grave.  It was great to be there with the whole family.  She would have loved that.  We returned back to Jeff and Lauren's house and Angela gave a box of My Little Ponies to the twins.  They loved them which made Angela very happy.  We later returned to see my dad with Jeff's family. All the kids took turns talking on the ham radio and tickling me.  My dad had a huge smile as was so happy.  It was worth being tickled the whole time to see that smile.  We had dinner and sat outside on the green grass looking at the temple enjoying the cool weather.  Addy, Jeff, and Angela even put on a show for us.
Talking to my dad and vising with my mom's gravesite

On Saturday, we went to see my dad.  Steve and Rachel joined us while we visited with dad.  It's was good when I can get together with my brothers.  After visiting with my brother, we headed up to Bear Lake,  We stopped by Subway for lunch and the Creamery for ice cream.  Lauren's grandpa loves to serve ice cream after dinner.  I tried the lemon ice cream after dinner and it was yummy.  When we arrived at Bear Lake, it didn't take long before we ended up in the lake.  We had a great time swimming and paddleboarding.  After dinner, there was a water fight.  We even played a round of Bocce ball.  That was a really fun game and Angela was the key player.  The kids had a great time launching the water balloons.  That evening, we roasted marshmallows and had smores while talking about the comet that was visible after dark.  We stayed up late to see a glimpse of the tail.  I think one needs a telescope to get a good view of the comet.
Our family had a lot of fun!!

Fun with cousins
We had fun in the lake

Sunday morning, Jim and I had to head to Logan to get some stuff that was left behind.  After lunch, some of us napped, while the rest of us went on a hike just east of the lake.  I loved the hike and I'm so glad that I went.  I loved that 1/2 the hike was shaded and that there were a lot of aspen trees.  It was fun to watch the kids run around and be free.  It was nice to just sit and enjoy the view of the lake while we colored and talked.  That night, Danni took pics of the Wall kids.  It was fun to see the kids in action: riding their cars, interacting with their grandparents, watching movies, and just playing.    Later that night, the kids went through shells that cover park part of the beach.
Everyone LOVES Angela!!

Danni and Manny were able to join us.
Manny had fun!!

Great  View
Monday morning, we packed up and cleaned the cabin, we stopped by the local soda shop and got some spudnuts in Logan.  We had lunch at In-N-Out before heading to see my dad.  It was great to talk to him again.  He was thrilled to know that the kids tickled me throughout our trip to Bear Lake  Jacob and the twins always found some time to tickle me.  We napped and talked for the rest of the day and ended the evening at Neilsns Frozen Yogurt.  Danni as always wanted to try that every time she goes to UT, but it is always closed when she tries.  I really wanted to go there for her.  I think we supported more food joints today then any other day.
Great memories with couins

Tuesday morning, we went to visit with my dad before heading home.  I'm going to miss him a lot, but so glad that we made the trip up to see him.  We dropped Josh, Danni, and Manny off at the Provo airport and headed home.

We really enjoyed our trip and so glad that we were able to make it happen due to COVID.

Memorable Monay
Independence Day 2003

Here are pics of July 4th 2003.  We participated in the neighborhood parade.  It's always fun to wear patriotic shirts and walk around the neighborhood waving flags.  Afterwards we really love eating the watermelon.

Later that afternoon, we headed over to my parent's house for a BBQ and a birthday celebration.  Jim cooked dinner on the grill in my parent's backyard and we had homemade root beer.  It was a fun day and I felt the love.

Fourth of July 2020

4th of July was different this year.  The Malmbergs thought about doing their neighborhood parade, but people were concerned about COVID, so it was cancelled.  This year we slept in and took pics of us wearing our 4 of July shirts at home.  I made rocket pops, which everyone loved especially Manny. I also made breakfast in the shape and color of the flag.  Even though this is a different way of celebrating the 4th, we are blessed to live in this amazing country.  That evening, we went to see fireworks near Fiesta Mall.

Swimming at Kino

The pools opened, but you needed a reservation to swim at the Mesa Public Pools.  I got a reservation for my family and Danni got one for her and Manny to swim at Kino on July 3rd.  It was nice to go swimming and feel like life was normal again.  It added to our Fourth of July experience this year, since everything was cancelled.  We had so much fun swimming and Manny was the hit of the party.  We sure love Manny and we are glad that we was able to come swimming with us.  It would've not been the same without him.

TV Shows

Governor Ducey had a press conference and due to the COVID numbers increasing closed down several business.  He encouraged us to stay home and watch Netflix.  I hated hearing that news and looked up some TV shows that I watched in the past.  I wish that I could watch these TV shows instead of what is available on Netflix.

Redecorate Family Room

We were exposed to COVD-19 and had to stay home for the weekend until Danni got her test results.  While we waited, we decorated had a photo shoot.  Danni took great pics and I ordered them in the mail.  Brigham was the one who exposed us and his test came back negative, so we were in the clear, so we bought frames to match the Family Proclmation and Living Christ.  Jim and Danni hung up the pictures on the wall using a broom.  It had to take a picture of that.  They were so clever, but the pictures look great.
