Orchestra Festival and Concert

Emily's orchestra participated in a festival today.  I was able to help out which was really nice.  I just found out the Emily's 3rd cousin is in the same orchestra.  The orchestra performed 2 songs for the judges, one of which was Mrs. Hagan.  They received a superior, which is the highest rating for Junior High.  The judges spend some time with the orchestra going over the songs that they performed.  Taylor was the last school. so they received extra time with Mrs. Hagan.  She helped them with another song that the were performing at the concert that they didn't perform at the festival.  She had such great advice for the students.  Mrs. Pillow, Em's orchestra teacher at Porter, was there with some familiar Franklin Jr. High students.

The concert was nice and short.  Mrs. Willis has 4 orchestras, so I was worried that the concert would be long.  But, it was a relatively short concert - YAY!!  Jim was able to come to the very last bit and was able to hear the 3 songs that Emily played.  Afterwards, we went to Fiiz.  It was a great day being surrounded by the Taylor Orchestra Program.
