Josh did very well at his chess tournament on Saturday. He was introduced to chess club and tournaments during 4th grade. Porter held a chess club in the morning and Josh was very excited to join. He learned a lot that year and went to a tournament held at Taylor in the spring. The team did very well and Josh got his first taste of chess tournaments. That summer, Josh and I attended a few tournaments where Josh learned even more and received his first individual chess trophy. There was no chess club during the his 5th & 6th grade years and scouting took place of his tournaments, so he took a hiatus from chess. Josh is really excited to join the chess club at Taylorand has already made some new friends.
