State Marching Festival

Mesa High performed at the State Marching Festival tonight.  It was great to see them perform their show.  They had a uniform change and this was the first time they competed with it.  It looked really sharp especially with their backdrops. Their show is called "Fearless" and the gold strips are the racing theme throughout their program.  A commentator recognized that the backdrops and the sashes all matched, which makes us happy.  The University of Arizona marching band performed for the parents while the judges consulted with each other.  My favorite part was when their marching band turned to face the kids in the opposing stands and performed just for them.   They performed very well and earned a "Superior with Distinction" with 5 captions - a caption in every area.
