Battle of the Books

Dani participated in Battle of the Books again this year. The kids are asked to read 12 different books and then answer questions about what they remember about the book. It such a great program to promote reading. I love this program and find myself reading the same books right along with Dani. Those books that I didn't read, I plan to in the future. A couple of Dani's friends made it to the district finals along with her cousin from another school. Can you image how many kids in the school district read and studied these 12 books? That's the power of Battle of the Books program.
Here is Dani's team and Maybree's team along with Mrs. Lenz after the last competition. It was neat to sit with the students from their school and hear the "wow" and "awesome" comments from the students listening to the competition. I wonder how many of those students will participate next year. Congrats to the students who participated in this great program!
