Mesa High had their Christmas Band Concert super this year, or at least it seemed super early. Josh play the bass clarinet and the contra bass clarinet for this concert. Here is a list of songs that they played.

Josh had a solo part in "All is Calm" and he played the contra-bass clarinet in "Greensleeves", so those were two of his favorite Christmas songs this year. Josh really enjoys playing the contra-bass and every time he pulls that instrument out of his case, people flock to him to see what is that huge instrument. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" has a great clarinet part, so that song is high on his list too. It was a great concert!!!

When Josh plays the contra-bass clarinet, he needs to sit up higher to use the mouth piece. Here is picture of him playing the bass clarinet on the top and the contra-bass on the bottom. I like it when he plays the contra-bass because I can see him.
